A wildfire erupted at Wharton State Forest late Tuesday morning and has spread 95 acres, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said in a Tuesday evening update. The blaze started off Maple Branch Road in Washington Township near Batsto Village. Seven residential structures are threatened earlier in the day but as of 7:20 p.m. they were deemed safe, the forest fire agency said.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
