Will Anderson accomplished something this season that no other Alabama player in the program’s history has done.
Anderson became the Tide’s first player ever to earn unanimous All-American status in multiple seasons when he was selected Wednesday to the AFCA’s first team All-America.
There were 39 unanimous All-Americans in Alabama history before Anderson, but none accomplished the feat in multiple seasons since the NCAA’s record book began tracking unanimous All-Americans with the 1924 season. The last defensive player in college football to have multiple unanimous All-America seasons was Tennessee safety Eric Berry in 2008 and 2009.
