“Beijing already hosted one of the most memorable Olympic Opening Ceremonies in history with the 2008 Summer Olympics, so expectations are high that they’ll pull out all the stops again,” reads the Peacock website. “Like the 2008 Olympics, the 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is designed by legendary Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, known for his stunningly beautiful cinematography and color.
The Peacock website continues to detail how the ceremony will last about 100 minutes and will feature a performance with about 3,000 actors. Again, what that performance may be remains a mystery.
