Honduran Guadalupe Murillo, 76, with her grandchildren, at a migrant camp in Matamoros, Mexico, Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Murillo, who suffers several illnesses, can’t walk. She was brought to the border by her two daughters who each came with four children. The family from Honduras, left their country in December of 2018 and worked the daughters worked their way through Mexico. They are hoping to seek asylum in the U.S. after Title 42 expires on May 11.

It was the fifth most common nationality to enter the country and face deportation — roughly 69,000 people, according to the Syracuse University analysis of immigration court records.in Honduras; the country's homicide rate ranks among the highest in the world, according to the Migration Policy Institute.
