Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s and low 80s across Western Washington for the hottest weather of the year so far. The warmth will have lots of people heading to lakes, rivers and Puget Sound, but Captain Ryan Hendricks, Swiftwater Lead for Eastside Fire & Rescue, has a warning.Hendricks said he worries most about this time of year when air temperature suddenly warms as the snowmelt is just beginning.“I want people to know the water is still running very cold and very fast,” said Hendricks.Hendricks was in several local rivers this week, training rescuers.
