A 35-year-old North Richland Hills woman died Monday while in custody at the Tarrant County jail, authorities said Tuesday, marking the
Just before 11 a.m., jail staff found Chasity Corday Bonner unresponsive in her cell, county spokesperson Robbie Roy said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.Bonner was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital after the hospital staff at the jail administered two doses of Narcan, a medication that can reverse the effects of opioid overdoses, and attempted life-saving measures, Roy said in the release.
About 9:15 a.m. the same day, Bonner was seen by medical staff in the jail but rejected further treatment, Roy said. She asked to return to her cell.Bonner was booked into the jail May 16 on a warrant from the North Richland Police Department. She was facing a charge relating to a reported property theft between $2,500 and $30,000 and a parole violation, Roy said.after a “fight” with jail staff April 21 during a cell check.
