Police forced entry into an apartment building in the 200 block of Ohio Street for a well-being check and found two people shot.

A man and a woman were found shot, one fatally, in a Gold Coast apartment Monday afternoon, authorities said. At approximately 4:30 p.m., police forced entry into an apartment building in the 200 block of Ohio Street for a well-being check, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Langford. The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in grave condition.
