A woman was injured and several people were arrested after she was ambushed and a fight broke out at a hotel in north Houston, officials said. Harris County Precinct 4 deputies around 11 p.m. responded to reports of a shooting in the 11500 block of Bammel North Houston Road, where they found several people who were yelling and arguing, Metro Video Services reported. A woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Investigators had not yet released the names of those who were reportedly arrested.Witnesses told investigators a woman went to the hotel for a birthday party.

Investigators allege the woman somehow called her father, who arrived with a rifle. The two women returned and a fight broke out. During that scuffle, someone fired several shots with the rifle. None of the bullets went into other rooms and no one else was injured, officials said.
