One of the largest homes in the ritzy mountain town of Aspen, Colo., has sold in an unusual transaction for $22 million.
The price is a fraction of the original $45 million the home sought in 2013, according to listings sites. Buyer Christy Thompson, daughter of late Texas oil executive J. Cleo Thompson, said the price reflects the fact that she threw in a smaller home she owned in Pompano Beach, Fla., that had been on the market asking $11.995 million.
