Qatari officials say they are frustrated over a slow U.S. response to its request to buy armed Predator drones in an estimated $600 million deal
WASHINGTON—The Qatari government, which has aided in the evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghans and backed American counterterrorism operations in the Middle East, is voicing frustration with the Biden administration for slow-walking a request to buy advanced drones from the U.S.
The government of Qatar made a formal request more than a year ago to buy four armed MQ-9B Predator drones. The State Department has yet to act on the Qatari drone request and officials declined to say why.
