A weekend series between the Yankees and Red Sox resumes on Saturday.
On the mound for the Bombers will be Domingo German with pitching-starved Boston turning to Tanner Houck .In his other five starts, German has allowed just six runs over 28²/₃ innings.
German pitched well in two starts against the Red Sox last season, giving up eight hits and four runs in 11 innings. Like most of the Red Sox staff, Houck has been brutal recently, allowing four runs or more in four of his last six starts.He has been particularly bad in his two most recent outings where he gave up eight runs over nine innings.Boston has lost Houck’s last five starts by a combined score of 28-7.The bullpen has been a little better but they are facing a New York team with the lowest bullpen ERA in the league, so again, it’s advantage Yankees.
