Zach Harrison has the longest arms (36 1/4 inches) of any defensive lineman at the NFL Scouting Combine since 2014.
No defensive lineman has measured in with longer arms than Harrison since 2014, when Tennessee defensive tackle Daniel McCullers measured in with 36 5/8” arms. No player at any position has measured in with longer arms since UConn offensive tackle Matt Peart in 2020, when he also measured in at 36 5/8”.
Even so, Harrison will likely have only the second-longest arms among Ohio State’s draft prospects at this year’s combine unless Dawand Jones’ arms have shrunk over the past month. Jones measured in with 36 5/8” arms, where he also set a Senior Bowl record by measuring in with an 89 1/2-inch wingspan.
Harrison‘s weigh-in numbers across the board are impressive for a defensive end and will only help his draft stock – especially if he can pair those measurables with impressive workout numbers on Thursday afternoon, when he’ll be the first Buckeye at this year’s combine to go through on-field drills.
Harrison’s arm length will impress NFL scouts because of how that length will make it more difficult for offensive linemen to block him, and he said during his interview session in Indianapolis on Wednesday that his length is something he tries to use to his advantage.
