This is the second time Zendaya has had to skip out on the most star-studded red carpet of the year. She previously missed the Met Gala that took place in September 2021 as she had a scheduling conflict with production of season 2 of her show. “My fans are going to be very upset with me.
After being postponed for over a year due to COVID-19 safety precautions, this year, the Met Gala is returning to its traditional date on the first Monday in May with the part two of the theme “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” The dress code this time around, however, will be gilded glamour and white tie and “ask[s] its attendees to embody the grandeur—and perhaps the dichotomy—of Gilded Age New York.
