The stabbings took place shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the Target store at FIGat7th, a large multi-level open shopping plaza located in the city’s Financial District.
The man, described as 40 years old and homeless, came into the store, grabbed a large butcher-style knife from a shelf and approached a 9-year-old boy, saying several times that he was going to kill him, Police Chief Michel Moore said at a news conference.
Other people in the store pulled the woman into a pharmacy and closed the gate to protect her, the chief said. Passerby, shoppers, and police are spotted outside Target following the stabbings at FIGat7th on Nov. 16, 2022 in Los Angeles.“Out of nowhere, we heard people screaming,” Kevin Zaragoza, who was shopping at the store with his brother, told “We rushed to the front. Right there by the exit we see a girl on the floor, blood all over her.”
