This year, warm weather and ample sunshine gave Anchorage's Bike to Work Day a boost as volunteers at sponsored treat stations passed out food and other goodies across the city.

Friday’s commute looked a bit different as bicyclists took to Anchorage’s streets and trails to celebrate National Bike to Work Day. The annual event was founded by the League of American Bicyclists and is observed in towns across the nation to promote health and community. In Anchorage, the event is organized by the city’s Health Department and Bike Anchorage, a biking advocacy and education group.a boost as volunteers at sponsored treat stations passed out food and other goodies at booths across the city.
