After just four, Art Briles, the controversial former Baylor and Houston head coach, stepped down as Grambling's offensive coordinator Monday. Briles was fired by Baylor in 2016 amid a sexual assault scandal involving the football program.
after an investigation commissioned by the university regarding failures to enforce Title IX standards that required probing allegations of sexual assaults against female students by Bears football players. The scandal also led to the departures of athletic director Ian McCaw and university president Kenneth Starr.
Briles was 65-37 with the Bears in eight seasons at the helm, winning 11 games in 2013 and 2014 and coaching the school's first Heisman Trophy winner in quarterback Robert Griffin III in 2011. Prior to his Baylor stint, Briles had a 34-28 record at UH, his first college head coaching job, from 2003-07.
