A dose of Berkeley nostalgia is still just seven digits away.

Berkeley favorite West Coast Pizza's cheesy sticks were a late-night rite of passage for Cal students up until its closure in 2022.

The beloved pizza joint officially closed for good in August, according to previous owner Jon Guhl, who confirmed the closure to SFGATE on Wednesday afternoon.Guhl, the pizza tycoon behind San Francisco chain Little Star , started West Coast Pizza in 2000, before selling it in 2008 to Benny Huerta. Huerta ran the business until his passing, and his former wife Rosario Huerta and daughter Leticia Huerta have been operating it ever since.

“They won’t stop ordering them. The cheese sticks are the reason West Coast is what it is,” Benny Huerta
