The efforts are in response to the backlash after Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender social media influencer, released an Instagram video promoting Bud Light. The April 1 post prompted an immediate backlash and calls for a boycott. According to WSJ, in the week ending April 22, Bud Light’s U.S. retail-store sales fell 21.4% over the same period from last year. Meanwhile, sales of rival brands Coors Light and Miller Lite grew by an almost equal amount.
