A mysterious illness has invaded Dauphin County, with multiple cases showing up at Upper Dauphin Area Elementary School, officials said Thursday. On Wednesday, the school had a “higher than normal number of students who became ill with symptoms that included nausea,” the Upper Dauphin Area School District said in a statement posted to theThere were increased reports of student and staff illness through the evening hours and more cases were reported Thursday morning, according to the district.
The district administration is working with public safety and public health officials to figure out if these illnesses are linked to the school environment. This included testing and evaluation of water, air quality and food sources, the district said.Additional reports have come in from other organizations in Dauphin County with similar concerns, so the district believes the illness is not isolated to the school community.
The district is still working with the Pa. Department of Health to determine whether to have students at the school on Friday.Reliance Hose Company, Dauphin County Hazardous Materials, Nutrition Group and the Pa.
