Lhuillier says she has been plotting her fragrance debut for over a decade. "I wanted this category for at least 14 years," she says. Once she found the right perfumer in Maurice Roucel to help her craft her dream scent, it took an entire year of mixing notes and making sure the right ingredients were used. It was the designer in her who created a bottle with a floral cap with movement to it, just like the dresses she's known for.
This is just the beginning of her expansion into the beauty space. Eventually, Lhuillier would love to launch a lip product or some sort of color palette. Taking a cue from her "glamorous mother," she says beauty is something that starts with how you feel. "I never saw my mother without lipstick on or without her nails polished," she tells.
