y, based on the Austrian psychological thriller of the same name, which will launch globally on Prime Video on September 16.reimagining follows a pair of twin brothers as they arrive at their mother’s country home to discover her face covered in bandages — the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery — immediately sensing that something doesn’t add up.
Peter Hermann also stars in the new film, which Matt Sobel directed from a script by Kyle Warren . V.J. Guibal, Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, Joshua Astrachan and David Kaplan produced, with Watts, Sobel, Veronika Franz, Severin Fiala, Kyle Warren, Derrick Tseng, Sébastien Beffa and François Yon serving as EPs.
Franz and Fiala directed the original 2014 film, which made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, with Ulrich Seidl serving as producer. Check out the trailer for the reimagining by clicking above.
