When Blanton was asked whether she considered filing charges, she told ABC6 News, “I didn’t talk with anyone about what happened.”within the police department and city hall in the community about a half-hour south of Columbus. The records detail numerous complaints and personnel actions involving Davis in recent years as well as a host of unrelated events. Most items have portions redacted, while some -- such as a 44-page "report" -- are nothing but blacked-out pages.
Here’s how it all happened, per those statements and one from an eyewitness, city human resources director Valerie Dilley.Davis was upset about the hiring of former Columbus police officer Steve Wilkinson as Circleville’s new safety director, mostly due to early run-ins with Wilkinson, who had become an auxiliary Circleville officer.
After Davis enumerated several concerns about Wilkinson, including his secret hiring by the mayor, Blanton asked Davis to simply trust her. After Davis and Dilley tried to help her, “I asked if I could be excused from the meeting and room. I walked over to my office where I continued to suffer from lack of breath.”Mayor about acting chief: 'I told him to get off me'Davis followed her out.
