Credit card annual fees can be worth it, but only if you're using most of the benefits
, it's important to periodically take stock of your cards to decide if they still make sense for you. I like to do this little mini-review as the annual fee comes due., too often people fall into the trap of paying annual fees on cards when they're not getting the benefits. I recently did a mini-review of my credit cards and picked out a couple of cards that I am going to be canceling in 2020 — here's how I arrived at these decisions.
Keep in mind that we're focusing on the rewards and perks that make these credit cards great options, not things like interest rates and late fees, which will far outweigh the value of any points or miles. It's important to practice financial discipline when using credit cards by paying your balances in full each month, making payments on time, and only spending what you can afford to pay back.
