In the choir’s tradition of championing new voices, the event will feature works by Bay Area native composers.
Several openings exist on Piedmont commissions and committees. The Budget Advisory and Financial Planning Committee has three vacancies with three incumbents eligible to reapply. The Civil Service Commission has two vacancies with two incumbents eligible to reapply. The Park Commission has three vacancies with no incumbents eligible to reapply.
The award is presented annually to an individual who has volunteered his or her efforts over time to make a difference for Piedmont youth. Arthur Hecht was considered a tireless volunteer dedicated to students in Piedmont and Oakland. The award was established in Hecht’s memory in 1998, and previous recipients include Katie Korotzer, Maude Pervere, Andrea Swenson, June Monach, Sue Smegal and Ken Li.
