He's got the long hair, nicknames and the game. He also has... a pet alligator? A look at the enigma that is Ball State running back Carson Steele:
Steele, who rarely tweets, retweeted it. Why wouldn't you? When asked about it, he just laughed.
As a kid, in first or second grade he estimates, Carson asked his dad, Joseph, for a"cool pet." Carson figured he was going to get a turtle, maybe a lizard. It's a much simpler biography behind the owner of the No. 33 jersey who, kind of like an alligator, is too strong to simply take head on.Growing up, Carson said he was fast, but never the"fastest." If he couldn't be the fastest, he made sure he was going to be the strongest. Running out of the backfield, he said he used to make his own holes rather than wait for one to open up.
Carson said, even now, the balancing process is confusing, but noticed he was getting"too much into weights instead of trying to be an athlete." An injury his junior year in high school helped him realize he was doing too much. It's all a balancing act, and Carson's seemed to have gotten the hang of it.
