According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Kate Middleton prefers to get her children 'practical gifts' because she worries they have too much screen time.
According to Nicholl, the royal kids—especially seven-year-old George and six-year-old Charlotte—are, like pretty much every other kid fortunate enough to have access to technology, gadgets, and the internet, big fans of all of the above. Unfortunately for their potentially tech-heavy Christmas lists, however, their parents are strict about screen time.
