During the pandemic year of 2020, life expectancy dropped and more than 28 million extra years of life were lost in 31 countries – with men hit much harder than women, a new analysis shows.

YLL in 2020 topped expectations in all countries expect Taiwan, New Zealand, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, and South Korea.
