The tornado blew through Bernardsville over five minutes on Monday afternoon and forced the ongoing closure of an NJ Transit line.

during a strong storm on Monday afternoon produced top winds of 105 mph on its nearly mile-and-a-half long path that left dozen of trees toppled and power lines damaged, officials said.

The tornado tracked northeast, uprooting two maple trees on a slight embankment along Mine Brook behind the Rose Bowl Baseball/Softball field, the weather service said. “The EF-1 rating is primarily based on the number of trees with snapped trunks with the highest concentration in a single location being along the NJ Transit line,” the weather service said.
