In October 2022, Harvard Business Review Analytic Services conducted a global survey of 536 members of the Harvard Business Review audience who are familiar with their organization’s financial planning and procurement/sourcing activities and whose organizations’ two functions operate in separate departments. The survey finds that while 72% of organizations place a high degree of importance on collaboration between planning and sourcing, only 36% say those two functions are highly collaborative.
