According to authorities, an Altoona man is behind bars after being accused of assaulting another man inside a neighboring apartment.
The incident happened Monday at the Logan Hills Apartment Complex where, according to an affidavit, the victim explained that he had been unloading boxes of online orders that were sitting on his porch.
As he took the boxes that were on the porch into his apartment, he stated that his apartment door kept closing behind him. After the man finished bringing the boxes into his home, he sat down in the apartment. Suddenly, his neighbor, 19-year-old Dominic Socie, “kicked in his door” and punched the victim approximately ten times in the head area, theSocie threatened the victim after the assault, stating, “If you slam that door one more time, this is a warning.” police said.
Police said that when they caught up to Socie and took him into custody, he claimed he attacked the victim because he was upset with him for “pounding on his door” and “waking up his child.” Currently, Socie is at the Blair County Prison on charges of felony burglary, criminal trespass and simple assault.
