The female-founded organic period product brand taking femtech to new heights:

Share to linkedinohneis heading into its second round of investment pitching with a pledge to take femtech one step further. Rather than simply collecting data to inform people of their own cycle and fertility patterns, ohne will be using technology to highly personalise its products, community and content to each individual.

This is something that ohne’s co-founders have experienced first hand. “There's a lot of talk about investing more into female founders and it’s great that those conversations are happening but unfortunately reality hasn’t caught up yet,” observes Michelsen. “Because we're building a product in an industry that most investors can't relate to , we’ve definitely noticed a subconscious bias against ohne due to it being in the period product industry.

ohne was founded by university friends Nikki Michelsen and Leah Remry-Peploe after the duo grew tired of being forced to use products that either looked like they’d been made for brainless Barbie dolls or were filled with so many toxic chemicals that they were left wondering whether they were being aided in managing their periods or encouraged to turn their vaginas into nuclear power plants.

Whereas apps form a large part of the current femtech out there, ohne is looking to bring data-collecting technology to its own platform.
