Richard Grenell has won early support from two key members of GOP leadership to be President Donald Trump's pick as acting director of national intelligence. But it's unclear if most Republicans — particularly on the Senate Intelligence Committee — are comfortable with the president's choice.

Ron Wyden , an Intelligence Committee member. “He was a congressman for many, many years. He was on the Intel committee. He's just got a good background,” said the official. “Maybe he would invite more scrutiny this time, but one would think that people have looked over his credentials and any potential trouble spots before.”
