“Pretty fluky random thing to happen. Pretty unlucky, but also very lucky. I somehow missed anything major and definitely, just the area. I’ve had a couple of skate cuts before my career And it’s weird to talk about it. You talk to some guys who are retired and maybe had one or none and this is my third one. So knock on wood that it’s the last one and just a flukey thing.”“No not so much pain, there’s so much adrenaline. You’re just more kind of confused.
“I just gingerly got up and I didn’t mean to but once I got close to the bench, I took my gloves away from my knee to kind of look and it was just so much blood that the voice started kind of yelling and freaking out. And my boy hopped right over the bench came and grabbed me. So I just had flashbacks back to when my Achilles was slit.
“That was a pretty gnarly injury. I remember when they were going to stitch it up, they kind of paused and realized that my tendon was cut, you know, 40% and that’s why I needed surgery back then. So that was my biggest worry. Once we took the gear off, and the docs were in there, they’re using tools to kind of really look at my leg because it was such a deep cut, you can kind of see completely through the leg and we realized that the muscle was intact by a quarter an inch.
