, always dreamed of opening up their own restaurant to showcase a totally unique spin on Italian-American food. And indeed, from the tight swirls of rolled-up lasagna to their stuffed garlic bread, this is. Kick things off with a pre-dinner “Nonna’s Little Nip” before sharing a few extravagant dishes—the best of which is the “DA PEPI” veal, topped with speck, mustard seeds, and rye. With any luck, Tacinelli and Rito's kitchen romance will prove contagious.
You kind of know what you’re getting when walking into the typical oyster bar: happy hour specials with mediocre dollar oysters, a pale lemon, some cocktail sauce. Maybe some mediocre Chardonnay to boot. But Marco Canora’s Zadie’s Oyster Room breaks the mold. Here, you get. You get toasted brown bread with anchovy butter. You get Brandade . And yeah, you get incredible raw oysters. It’s incredibly intimate, backed by, and never crowded.
