Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and members of the Baltimore Orioles' ownership spoke ahead of Opening Day.

MARYLAND, USA — Maryland Governor Wes Moore is set to visit R. Adams Cawley Shock Trauma Center Thursday afternoon to speak privately with medical personnel about their response toMoore spoke from the podium inside the warehouse opposite Camden Yards less than 24 hours after the bodies of two construction workers killed in the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse were discovered.

Moore said investigators are still piecing together exactly what happened that night and what could have been done to prevent it. As federal and state leaders regroup, the Orioles are beginning a new season in charm city under new ownership, one Moore said will help show Baltimore’s strength. Baltimore Orioles Legend and Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. spoke of Tuesday’s collapse, offering condolences to the victims and their families.
