helped turn Reeves into a star and launched an unlikely franchise that has shockingly endured for decades. The idea for a third film, scripted by original writershas kicked around for years. “Chris and Ed came to us in 2007 with the idea of doing it,” Reevesin 2018. “They pitched us an idea. It sounded great.” But it wasn’t until last year when the pieces finally officially fell into place.
Per a press release announcing the project, the new film picks up with Bill and Ted as middle-aged dads tasked once again with the major task of saving humanity. “Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it,” read a statement.
