Lauren Pazienza pleaded guilty to a first-degree manslaughter charge for pushing Barbara Gustern and will be sentenced to eight years in prison
Pazienza, 27, will be sentenced to eight years in prison followed by five years of supervision after her release under the terms of the plea, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 29.
The DA’s office said the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on March 10, 2022 and that Pazienza shouted obscenities at Gustern and “intentionally shoved her to the ground,” causing the vocal coach to fall on her head. Gustern suffered a brain injury that killed her several days after the attack.
