The painted median on Route 9 near where cops say a 53-year-old woman on a motorcycle was killed in a crash with an SUV.A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured Sunday when the motorcycle they were riding struck the back of an SUV that had abruptly veered across a painted median on Route 9 in Old Bridge, authorities said.
The crash took place around 11 a.m. moments after an SUV entered the exit ramp from Route 9 north headed to Route 18 north,The SUV “suddenly crossed over the painted median and back onto Route 9 into traffic. This caused all cars on Route 9 to stop abruptly on the highway,” Old Bridge police said Tuesday.A 53-year-old woman, who was a passenger, died of her injuries at a nearby hospital. The man driving the motorcycle suffered “significant injuries,” police said.
